Child Care Subsidy and Fee Reduction Information

affordable child care benefit (ACCB)

Financial assistance from provincial and federal government programs may be available to help families manage the cost of child care. These programs are designed to support access to quality early learning by reducing financial barriers for families, based on factors such as household income, family size, and individual circumstances.

While Junior Scholars is unable to determine whether a family qualifies for financial assistance or the amount of support that may be provided, we encourage parents and caregivers to explore all available options directly through the appropriate government agencies. Taking the time to review eligibility requirements, application processes, and program details can help you better understand what financial support may be available for your child’s care. Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative (CCFRI)

Starting in September 2023, all families with children aged 12 and under who attend a participating Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative (CCFRI) licensed child care facility benefit from reduced monthly child care fees. This program is designed to make child care more affordable and predictable for families across the province.

CCFRI funding is provided directly to child care operators, meaning families do not need to apply separately to receive the fee reduction. Eligible, licensed child care providers receive funding to help reduce and stabilize child care fees, ensuring consistent and accessible pricing for parents.

Junior Scholars is a participating, opted-in CCFRI facility, allowing our families to benefit from these reduced fees automatically.
